On other cases still, tooth decay is so bad that it has already killed the tooth. In such cases, root canal is performed. During the procedure your doctor will remove the pulp of the tooth and will put filling in place of it.

Tooth extraction is done if it is beyond repair. To do this, your dentist will give you anesthesia. He will then loosen the tooth with the use of an elevator and then will pull it with forceps.
