By Garry Hustin

In order to be in a position to deal with skin moles in the right way, it is often necessary to classify them. But properly classifying the skin moles would require some knowledge on the various categories and the standards involved. As it turns out, there are actually five criteria we can use to classify these moles.

Classification of the skin moles will be user with this set of criteria. This is our chance to find out what these five classification methods are. This will also lead us to be the various categories for skin moles that we should know about according to the criteria set out before us. The color of the skin moles is our first basis of classification. While there are moles that are dark in color, there are also moles that are lighter. Generally, all moles are dark-colored. It just depends on the intensity of the color. We come to learn from the doctors who are involved in skin mole removal treatment that the color of the moles tends to be an important consideration when making decisions on how to remove them.

The proper classification of the moles will also be hugely influenced by their size. Mole sizes are variable. Some are so small that they are barely noticeable.

Other times, the moles could be quite large, much to your discomfort. Meanwhile, they could get to such huge proportions that they are an eyesore. In fact, seeing the size of the mole will probably be the factor that will push you into looking for ways to remove it. The skin mole removal treatment that you will finally decide on in the end would also have been influenced by the size of the skin mole that you want removed.

When classifying the moles accordingly, it is also important to take note on which part of the body they are located. Any skin surface on any part of the body could be affected with moles. We thus end up with facial moles, moles that develop on the back, moles that develop on the appendages (legs and arms), moles that develop on the neck... and so on. If you are wondering how to manage your moles, you would have to take into consideration the skin moles' locations. If you compare the moles that can be hidden to the moles that are in plain view, you will be more inclined to get rid of the latter. The fourth basis for classification of skin moles would have something to do with their depths or how deeply rooted they are on the skin. In this regard, we have some moles that seem to be very superficial, and others that seem to be very deep-seated. The depth of the moles plays a key role in determining how they are managed. If you compare how the mole removal treatments for shallow moles and deep-seated moles, you will find that the latter would probably require that anesthesia be administered and stitching be performed.

Now the fifth basis on which you can classify the skin moles would be their forms. Contrary to some moles that can be referred to as growths, there are moles that are flat in nature. You will find that your decisions for mole removal will be different if you have moles that are flat as opposed to your decisions if the moles you want removed are growths.
